Summary of 2022 NECZA Poster Session

This year's poster session was a success with great turnout and participation. The session included 17 participants, all of which entered the poster competition. Students and postdocs from 8 universities, took part in the poster session. The two winners of the competition were:

  • Dhrumil R. Shah (Georgia Institute of Technology, Prof. Chris Jones’ group) Synthesis of Aromatic Compounds via CO2 Hydrogenation via H-Fe-ZSM-5 / ZnO-ZrO2 Tandem Catalysts
  • Samuel C. Moore (Princeton University, Prof. Michele Sarazen’s group) Examining the Structural Stability of MIL-101(Fe) & MIL-88B(Fe) Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) in the Oxidation of Water Pollutants

Summary of 2021 NECZA Poster Session

This year's poster session was a success with great turnout and participation. The session included 14 participants, all of which entered the poster competition. Students and postdocs from 8 universities, as well as a national lab scientist, took part in the poster session. The three winners of the competition were:

  • Rachel Yang (Princeton University, Prof. Michele Sarazen’s group) Catalytic Implications of Pore Environment in Fe-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks
  • Michael Smith (Princeton University, Prof. Michele Sarazen’s group) Demonstrating an Experimental Framework for Investigating CO2 Reduction on MOF-derived Electrocatalysts
  • Jian Pan (University of Delaware, Prof. Raul Lobo group) Comparative Investigation of Ga- and In-CHA in Ethane Dehydrogenation

Summary of 2019 NECZA Poster Session

This year's poster session was a success with great turnout and participation. The session included 12 participants, of which 8 entered the poster competition. Students and postdocs from 6 universities, as well as a national lab scientist, took part in the poster session. The two winners of the competition were:

  • Christopher Rzepa (Lehigh University, Prof. Srinivas Rangarajan & Prof. Jeetain Mittal groups) Computational Quantification of Adsorption Driven Entropic Trends within Zeolites.
  • Megha Sharma (Lehigh University, Prof. Mark Snyder group) Multi-scale control of micro-to meso-structure of carbon molecular sieve powders, films and membranes.

Each of the winners received a $100 prize and had the opportunity to discuss their research in a 15-minute presentation during the afternoon session of the NECZA meeting. Summary of 2018 NECZA Poster Session

The poster session for the 2018 NECZA meeting had an excellent turnout consisting of 19 participants, 14 of which entered the poster competition. Students and postdocs from 6 universities took part in the poster session. The two winners of the competition were:

  • Jason Gulbinski (University of Massachusetts Amherst, Prof. Wei Fan group). Phosphoric Acid Zeolites for Production of p-Xylene from 2,5-Dimethylfuran and Ethylene: Homogeneous or Heterogeneous?
  • Yanyu Mu (The Pennsylvania State University, Prof. Robert Rioux group) Solvent Effects on Acid-Base Interactions in Zeolites.

Each of the winners received a $100 prize and had the opportunity to discuss their research in a 15-minute presentation during the afternoon session of the NECZA meeting. The poster session for the 2017 NECZA meeting had 12 participants, 10 of whom entered the poster competition. Students and postdocs from 4 universities and NIST took part in the poster session. The two winners of the competition were:

  • Nicholas Gould (University of Delaware, Prof. Bingjun Xu group): Temperature Programmed Desorption of Pyridine on Zeolites in the Presence of Solvents

The poster session for the 2016 NECZA meeting had 13 participants, 9 of which entered the poster competition. Students and postdocs from 5 universities, NIST and PNNL took part in the poster session. The two winners of the competition were:

  • Megha Sharma (Lehigh University, Prof. Mark Snyder group). Fabrication of asymmetric, hierarchically porous polyimide-derived carbon thin films by hard templating.
  • Edward Schreiner (University of Delaware, Prof. Raul Lobo group) High-pressure Conversion of C5-C7 Alkanes for Aircraft Endothermic Cooling.
